A smile picture

Mommy Wendy doesn't often capture a picture of Molly smiling so I decided to give it a try.

At a concert

We went to the outdoor mall near us (Santana Row) to meet some friends. Sitting outside of Starbucks, we were able to enjoy a Santana-like band and soak in the sunlight. Here are Adam and Molly hanging out at the "concert".

Molly is banging toys in her chair

Four months

Four Months Old!!!

Random update:

  • Molly is four months old today.
  • She's getting much bigger and heavier, and has been eating significantly more lately.
  • We are delighted with her emerging personality. Molly 'talks' quite frequently when she's happy. She smiles at almost everyone.
  • She still watches everything very intently, especially when daddy plays the guitar.
  • She is beginning to actively interact with her environment by reaching out and playing with some toys.
  • She's also gotten pretty good at scooting herself into different positions when she's laying down.
  • Her legs are very strong, and she likes to stand but has no real balance, so needs to be spotted closely. She also likes to sit upright, and doesn't mind sitting on the couch next to us, although she can end up falling sideways if nothing is there to catch her -- that balance thing again.
  • She still loves to go for walks
  • She's taking more interest in other babies (to watch, not really interact with).

Gazing at mommy

Playing at home today. Last short work week for mommy. Next week mommy has to work all week long, so Molly will spend some more time in daycare. That's okay, though, since Molly loves daycare!

Slobber-monkey

Molly is really wonderful these days. She's happy and everyone loves her smiles (they make people feel really special, because it is clear that she's really smiling at them). Lately, Molly has been drooling all the time. We pretty much always keep a bib on her, but that gets drenched in a couple of hours of being up and about.

Here's Molly in her swing this afternoon. Notice the wet chin.

Roll-y-poll-y Moll-y

We all went out to breakfast this morning, and the adjoining table had two round little 4-month old boys. Molly's just not a round little girl... still long and lean (although growing all the time). This makes her look quite small next to the older boys.

However, she's spent a good deal of the day rolling... rolling to the right, rolling to the left. Not quite rolling over (she's still only done that once).
Here's Molly rolling around.

Shhh... baby sleeping

Okay, so we are supposed to put the baby on her back to sleep. But what happens when she falls asleep during tummy-time?

Molly had a long day in daycare today.

Yes, she's feeling better.

Now daddy is sick.

Baby skills

Molly Has a new skill... One that Adam has been trying to teach her since birth: sucking her thumb!
