The Tongue

Molly has discovered her tongue. What she's really delighted to discover is that if she sticks her tongue out and blows, it makes a cool raspberry sound!

So now Molly has a myriad of sounds in her inventory:
  1. Crying
  2. Whining
  3. Laughing
  4. Babbling
  5. Blowing Raspberries
It's so great to be 7 months old!

Molly and I having coffee

Teething Woes

Molly is teething. The last two nights and days have been rough. She's got two teeth on the bottom front of her mouth now that have, apparently, given her a lot of pain. Much of the time, Molly has her hand in her mouth and is drooling and whining. In the night, she's had a couple of hours of crying inconsolably.

On the up-side, she's been eating well. We've discovered that she loves carrots, peaches, and bananas. She likes peas, oatmeal, squash, pears and applesauce. She really isn't at all certain about green beans, prunes, or sweet potatoes. Originally she liked rice cereal, but now seems to actively dislike it.

Molly eats pears

Molly is FINALLY eating again. She hasn't wanted to eat anything for the past few days... but she must be feeling better because she downed a 1/2 a jar of pears. Yay!!!

Sick baby sent home early

We got the call around 2:20... come get Molly... she's sick! I got to the daycare and Molly looked rather happy. But, she was not doing so well a bit earlier. Thinking that it might just be something she ate. Doesn't do well with Sweet Potatoes???

Molly standing on bed

We have been getting practice standing with the help of furniture. Here Molly is standing on the bed with help from her toy. You can see that it takes quite a bit of concentration.

A tooth has broken through!

We would show a picture of Molly's new tooth... But she won't open her mouth enough!

Molly's issues...

Last night, Molly slept pretty poorly. She was great all day today, but rather fussy this evening. We just discovered that she's got a tooth! It looks like just the littlest bit through the gum line on the bottom left. After putting some numbing medication on her gums, she perked right up... for a bit. Then she started tugging at one of her ears. An ear ache? We had shots on Thursday, including a flu shot, so we were speculating about that. She's also just getting over a cold. Gosh, so many issues for one little girl.

Living dangerously

Hmm, looks like we need to retire the bouncer.

Update from the Doctor

(this is really Molly's mom)... we were at the doctor's office on Thursday for our VERY overdue 6-month appointment. In addition to 3 shots and oral vaccine, we got an update on Molly's progress.

We still have a TALL and SKINNY girl. She is now 27-inches tall (80th percentile) and weighs 16 and 1/2 pounds (50th percentile). Her head circumference is also average (50th percentile).

Molly handled the shots well, but yesterday and this morning have been kinda rough and whining. We're hoping she gets over it by our evening outings.

Right now, Molly has attached one part of her bib (via velcro) to her dragon puppet and is tugging at the puppet. This was all due to chance and she's a little confused trying to figure it out.

Smiling on the bed...

Another on the bed picture. Molly is sitting, smiling at me. How could I resist?

Molly's personality is evolving

Took this picture tonight while playing on the bed. What I love about this picture is that it reflects Molly's emerging personality and sense of humor. She laughs easily, especially when things are unexpected. I suspect that she is going to be a real charmer...
