The Tongue
Molly has discovered her tongue. What she's really delighted to discover is that if she sticks her tongue out and blows, it makes a cool raspberry sound!
So now Molly has a myriad of sounds in her inventory:

Teething Woes
Molly is teething. The last two nights and days have been rough. She's got two teeth on the bottom front of her mouth now that have, apparently, given her a lot of pain. Much of the time, Molly has her hand in her mouth and is drooling and whining. In the night, she's had a couple of hours of crying inconsolably.
On the up-side, she's been eating well. We've discovered that she loves carrots, peaches, and bananas. She likes peas, oatmeal, squash, pears and applesauce. She really isn't at all certain about green beans, prunes, or sweet potatoes. Originally she liked rice cereal, but now seems to actively dislike it.

Molly is FINALLY eating again. She hasn't wanted to eat anything for the past few days... but she must be feeling better because she downed a 1/2 a jar of pears. Yay!!!

Molly and the dragon
Molly isn't feeling 100% today, so she's just not her jolly self. However, she has been having a little bit of fun with the dragon...

Sick baby sent home early
We got the call around 2:20... come get Molly... she's sick! I got to the daycare and Molly looked rather happy. But, she was not doing so well a bit earlier. Thinking that it might just be something she ate. Doesn't do well with Sweet Potatoes???

Molly standing on bed
We have been getting practice standing with the help of furniture. Here Molly is standing on the bed with help from her toy. You can see that it takes quite a bit of concentration.

Molly's issues...
Last night, Molly slept pretty poorly. She was great all day today, but rather fussy this evening. We just discovered that she's got a tooth! It looks like just the littlest bit through the gum line on the bottom left. After putting some numbing medication on her gums, she perked right up... for a bit. Then she started tugging at one of her ears. An ear ache? We had shots on Thursday, including a flu shot, so we were speculating about that. She's also just getting over a cold. Gosh, so many issues for one little girl.

Update from the Doctor
(this is really Molly's mom)... we were at the doctor's office on Thursday for our VERY overdue 6-month appointment. In addition to 3 shots and oral vaccine, we got an update on Molly's progress.
We still have a TALL and SKINNY girl. She is now 27-inches tall (80th percentile) and weighs 16 and 1/2 pounds (50th percentile). Her head circumference is also average (50th percentile).
Molly handled the shots well, but yesterday and this morning have been kinda rough and whining. We're hoping she gets over it by our evening outings.
Right now, Molly has attached one part of her bib (via velcro) to her dragon puppet and is tugging at the puppet. This was all due to chance and she's a little confused trying to figure it out.

6 Months Old!!!
Molly is six months old today.... and she's changing RADICALLY. New skills include:
- Eating - rice cereal!
- Sitting up - she just started sitting on her own this past weekend, but now she's a total pro, and apparently wants to spend all of her time sitting!
- Laughing - okay, so she's laughed for a while, but her recent laughing is totally infectious and joyful
- Grabbing onto things very intentionally and manipulating them. She's been doing some of this for a long time, but the behavior has taken a radical shift. For example, in her exersaucer she's playing with all of the toys and pulling hard on things to see if she can get new things to move. More things are making their way into her mouth, too.
- Talking -- well, vocalizing. She's done this for a long time too, but now it appears to be more directed at the person she's looking at (instead of simply for her own amusement).
Gosh, we're so lucky to have such a happy, fun baby!

The Bouncy Tiger seat
Molly likes to jump around, whether in chairs or while being held. So we decided that she should would really like a "door jumper".

Testing new cell phones at mall
Wendy is testing the camera of a cell phone at the mall. Since we use cell phone cameras so much these days, it is important to have a good one.
